BRS alleges bias against film industry
Metro India News | Hyderabad
BRS party senior leader and former minister Harish Rao on Sunday criticised the Revanth Reddy government's approach towards film industry. He questioned the Chief Minister whether he was treating the film industry as an industry or turned it into a platform to settle his political scores? He lashed out at the CM by saying that permission was denied for one film to run until midnight while another film received the same permission with royal treatment two days in advance.
Harish Rao expressed his anger by stating that the state government was taking revenge on one hero's film for saying that former CM KCR's government would return to power after the next assembly elections and sending another hero to jail for forgetting the Chief Minister's name. He questioned the CM whether he would give permission to increase ticket prices to Rs. 600 to persons he liked? He wondered as to who is the invisible force that lost in the recent elections but had now become an extra-constitutional power dictating film ticket prices. “How many crores of rupees are being collected in commissions for each film? We will expose all these details soon,” he warned.
Harish Rao urged the state Governor to take notice of this commission racket in the film ticket prices, which is allegedly happening without the knowledge of the state Cinematography Minister. He stated that the BRS party demands a comprehensive inquiry into this matter.
