The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) employees took up the major civic works across the Hyderabad city during Sankranti festival.

People of the city enjoyed their festival, but HMWSSB employees worked day and night during the festival and solved many civic issues. At the time of Sankranti festival, everyone is immersed in happiness, but they are busy in their daily work.

Many civic problems raised in the city were solved by the employees. KPHB, Ameerpet, Panjagutta, Moosapet, Banjarahills, Jagadgirigutta, Pragathinagar and other areas worked day and night and solved the leakages, sewage and other problems on the roads. Coordinated with officials of Police, Traffic, GHMC, TRANSCO, TGNPDCL departments where necessary. Road crossing works were done in Moosapet for two days and at night.

Sewerage pipeline construction work has been undertaken near Forum Mall Circle within KPHB. Sewerage pipe construction works were done in Anjaneyanagar in Moosapet. The leakage formed in Banjarahills road number 10 was stopped. Leakage at Indira Gandhi statue in Jagadgirigutta was stopped. Gap closure works were carried out to increase water supply in Pragathi Nagar.

The sewerage pipeline in Panjagutta cross roads was damaged and repairs were carried out. All these works were reviewed by GMs of respective circles and managers of sections. As the roads in the city are empty at this time, they thought that this is a good time to solve the civic problems and repairs were undertaken. They have been taken up now as there is a possibility of causing trouble to people if such works are carried out during normal times.

HMWSSB MD Ashok Reddy and ED Mayank Mittal congratulated the staff and officers of the water board for working even during the festive season.
