Hostel warden caught red-handed taking Rs.14,000 bribe

Metro India News | Kothagudem : The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Khammam Range, on Friday caught Bukya Valusimha, warden / record assistant at the ST Boys Hostel, Palvancha, and in-charge of the ST Boys Hostel at Satyanarayanapuram in Charla mandal, red-handed while accepting a Rs.14,000 bribe. The officer initially demanded Rs.15,000 from the complainant for not treating six days of absence in August 2026 as unauthorised absence and for avoiding adverse consequences in her service. He also allegedly demanded the amount to ensure that there would be no obstruction in processing her salary bills in future.

Following negotiations, the demand was reduced to Rs.14,000, which the officer allegedly accepted at the Satyanarayanapuram hostel. The amount was recovered from his possession, while chemical tests on both his hands reportedly returned positive results. He was arrested and is being produced before the Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Warangal. The case is under investigation. The identity and details of the complainant have been withheld for security reasons.
