Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday said that Hyderabad has transformed from a manufacturing base into a global hub of innovation in Biotech, Pharma and Medical Technology. Speaking at the Biodesign Innovation Summit held at AIG Hospital on Sunday, the CM assured full government support for developing indigenous medical products through the BioDesign methodology.

He said Telangana offers a strong ecosystem with world-class academic institutions, skill development initiatives, industry partnerships and a talented workforce. Stressing on indigenous innovation, he announced that innovators and researchers would be given access to the state’s historical medical data while ensuring strict data privacy norms.

“We will connect innovators to universities, research institutions, innovation bodies, skills universities and corporations. For many years, our best minds solved problems of other countries. Now, it is time to use our intelligence to help our own people,” he said.

The CM commended AIG Hospitals Chairman Dr Nageshwar Reddy for initiating research using BioDesign in MedTech, which focuses on solving unmet clinical needs, validating solutions, and scaling them through manufacturing.

Highlighting Telangana’s progress, he said the state has become a hub for Life Sciences with major investments in diagnostic devices, imaging technologies, implants, surgical equipment and digital health solutions. Telangana is also home to India’s largest Medical Devices Park at Sultanpur, hosting over 60 global and domestic companies with world-class facilities for research, prototyping, testing and manufacturing.

Revanth Reddy further stated that Telangana is on track to become a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. Commending startups, MSMEs and companies, he said Hyderabad’s unique ecosystem is driving the state’s rise as a vibrant innovation destination.
