ICFAI Law School hosts conference on gender and human rights

The 2nd International Conference on Gender and Human Rights was launched at the Centre for Excellence in Gender Studies, ICFAI Law School on Thursday at the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), Donthanapally. Prof. (Dr.) Vijender Kumar, Director General, ICFAI Law School, IFHE, delivered the Chief Patron's Remarks A plenary session by transgender rights activist Vyjayanthi Vasanta Mogli highlighted the lived experiences of transgender persons and the continuing challenges relating to equality, dignity, recognition and access to justice.

Dr. Sophie Doherty, Durham University, UK, addressed menstrual health and its significance to human rights. Dr. Farzana Khan, My Choices Foundation, spoke on domestic violence and the protection of women from violence while Dr. Lars Aaberg delivered an international academic presentation on corporate governance and accountability.

On this occasion, an MoU was signed with the Indian International University of Legal Education and Research (IIULER), Goa, to promote academic exchange, collaborative research and student and faculty opportunities. Another MoU was signed with the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi to strengthen legal education, research, academic cooperation and joint initiatives. 

Prof. (Dr.) S. Vijayalakshmi, Registrar, IFHE, and Prof. (Dr.) Vijender Kumar, Director General, ICFAI Law School, IFHE, jointly launched the poster for the upcoming International Conference on Women 6.0, scheduled to be held on December 9, 10 and 11, 2026.
