IIIT Hyderabad’s Smart City Living Lab team secured the ‘Best Promotion of oneM2M’ award (3rd Prize), along with 500,000 KRW, at the 2025 International oneM2M Hackathon (8th Mobius Developer Challenge), marking the fifth consecutive win for IIITH at this global event.

The team’s project, ‘oneM2M-enabled AI for Resilient Building Systems,’ envisions smarter buildings that detect issues, adjust conditions, save energy, and maintain occupant safety. By combining oneM2M’s interoperable IoT framework with AI-driven intelligence, the system ensures buildings respond dynamically to environmental and occupancy changes.

Team Nexus Likhith Kanigolla, Kartik Gharde, Peri Reddy Vaka, and Nishitha Varma brought the idea to life under the guidance of Anuradha Vattem, Dr. Karthik Vaidhyanathan, and oneM2M community mentors. The innovation addresses a key challenge in smart infrastructure: intelligent, vendor-agnostic building automation.
