Rajanna Sircilla district celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervor on Saturday. Government Whip and Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas attended the celebrations as the Chief Guest at the parade ground on the premises of the District Police Office. He unfurled the national flag and received the ceremonial salute from the police contingent. MLA Srinivas highlighted various government development and welfare programmes being implemented in the district. Cultural performances by students were a major attraction.
Appreciation certificates were presented to officers, police personnel, municipal employees and gram panchayat staff for rendering exemplary services in their respective departments. A colorful tableau display organised by the Agriculture, Horticulture, Handlooms, Fisheries, Medical and Health, Animal Husbandry and Rural Development departments, among others, drew considerable attention. Prizes were presented to the best tableaux.As part of the celebrations, e-scooters and e-autos were distributed to members of women’s self-help groups through the Streenidhi programme. A total of 24 women received e-scooters worth Rs 1 lakh, while e-autos worth Rs 14.25 lakh were distributed.
