India Wins the Nations Cup at 60th IGFR World Golf Championship

The 60th IGFR World Golf Championship concluded at the Boulder Hills Golf & Country Club, marking the end of a spectacular week of competition, culture, and fellowship among Rotarians from around the globe.

For the first time in Asia, the 60th IGFR Golf Championship was held in Hyderabad. India won the tournament. Indian golfers Mukesh Sanghvi (105), Sajan Kumar Jain (100) and Ashok Doraiswami (99) were the top scorers for India. Sweden finished second and Sweden was third. Harini Jitendra won the Rotarian Division-1, Varghese Ruben won the Division-2 and Gibson Peter won the Veterans Division. Rinner Aloysius, Sanghvi Mukesh and Jain Sajan Kumar won the Open Division-1, Division-2 and Division-3 titles respectively.

Golfers from 24 countries showcased their skill and sportsmanship across multiple divisions, with the final rounds held at both Boulder Hills and Hyderabad Golf Association. The championship witnessed strong performances in every category, culminating in a vibrant closing ceremony filled with fellowship and celebration.The championship, hosted by the South Asian Fellowship of Golfing Rotarians (SAFGR) in collaboration with the International Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians (IGFR), saw participation from 180 Rotarian golfers and guests.

Beyond competition, the week-long event celebrated Rotary’s spirit of Service, Sport, and Fellowship, featuring cultural evenings, the IGFR Mela, and visits to Hyderabad’s iconic landmarks, including the Taj Falaknuma Palace.
