International Kite & Sweet Festival 2025 concludes in Secunderabad

METRO INDIA NEWS | HYDERABAD : The vibrant 3-day International Kite & Sweet Festival 2025, organized by the Government of Telangana, concluded at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad. The festival, celebrated from January 13 to 15, attracted participants from around the world.

The festival attracted participants from 19 countries, including Indonesia, Sweden, Australia, Canada, Sri Lanka, and more. A total of 47 international and 50 national kite flyers from 13 states showcased their skills.

In addition to kite flying, the festival featured cultural performances highlighting Telangana’s traditional arts such as Perini, Dholak, and Dapulu, as well as performances from other states promoting national unity. The event also included over 100 handloom and handicraft stalls, along with 60 food courts offering a variety of cuisines from Telangana and beyond.

A significant highlight was the Sweet Festival organized by Cultural Language Indian Connections (CLIC), which presented over 120 varieties of sweets made by Hyderabad’s residents, each reflecting the cultural diversity of India.

The event showcased enormous kites in shapes of animals, robots, flowers, and more, painting the sky with colorful displays. The festival was inaugurated by prominent officials, including Sri Jupally Krishna Rao, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism and Culture, and other government leaders.

The closing ceremony on January 15 featured a live concert by singer Mangli and drew overwhelming crowds. 

With over 1.5 million visitors, the festival successfully celebrated the passion and artistry of kite flying, making it a memorable cultural event. Special night kite flying sessions were also held, adding to the event’s allure.
