Iran rained at least 40 missiles, including Khorramshahr-4, on Israel on Sunday.
Khorramshahr-4
- It is Iran's biggest missile capable of carrying the heaviest payload
- It has a 2,000-km range and a 1,500-kg warhead. Iran says the missile can carry multiple warheads.
- It can reach Mach 16 outside the atmosphere and Mach 8 during re-entry, making it a high speed threat.
- It is named after the Iranian Khorramshahr city that saw heavy fighting during the Iraq-Iran war in the 1980s.
- It is also called Kheibar, after a Jewish fortress conquered by the Muslims in the 7th century — in what is now Saudi Arabia.
