To ensure students of Telangana can compete globally, the government is building one Young India Integrated Residential School in every Assembly constituency. Each school is being constructed on 25 acres with an investment of ₹200 crore. ITIs are being upgraded into Advanced Technology Centres, said Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka during the 80th Scientific Temperament Celebrations of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, organized by Vijnana Darshini at Ravindra Bharathi on Friday.

To sustain scientific temperament in the emerging Future City, work on the Skill University is progressing rapidly. The Deputy Chief Minister encouraged high schools and colleges to begin science exhibitions and assured that the government would provide all necessary support. He requested TRICOR Chairman Bellayya Naik to coordinate these efforts.

Pandit Nehru laid foundation of Science

“If Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had not become the first Prime Minister of this country, we cannot imagine the state India would be in today,” he said. By becoming the first Prime Minister, Nehru laid foundations not just for science but also for democracy, making India capable of competing with the world.

In the early years of independence, the country faced severe shortages of food and challenges in the education sector. Had Prime Minister Nehru not prioritized scientific thought and scientific temperament, people today would have suffered greatly.

Nehru formulated Five-Year Plans after discussing with intellectuals to decide what areas required focus. He emphasised agriculture and industry, and by linking both, structured mixed economic policies. Pandit Nehru established institutions like the UGC and Central Universities, which enabled continuous research and helped the nation meet its present-day needs. Bhatti Vikramarka said Nehru’s ideas of democracy and socialism are the foundation of India’s future.
