Choreographer Johnny Master and Telugu Film TV Dancers and Dance Directors Association (TFTDDA) President Sumalatha on Monday dismissed rumors of an altercation between Johnny Master and choreographer Shekhar Master, clarifying that viral social media clips from a recent association meeting had been taken out of context. The controversy erupted after videos from a TFTDDA meeting circulated online, leading to speculation that the two choreographers had clashed during a discussion over the association's internal affairs.
Johnny Master said the meeting was convened solely to discuss whether secret ballot elections should be conducted to fill vacancies within the association and that there had been no personal confrontation. He said the viral reports were completely false and maintained that he, Shekhar Master, Bhanu Master and all members of the association shared cordial relations. Speaking about welfare measures for dancers, Johnny Master announced a personal contribution of Rs 18 lakh towards the association's health insurance initiative.
TFTDDA President Sumalatha mentioned that every decision taken by the present committee reflected the majority opinion expressed by members during the General Body Meeting and rejected allegations that the leadership had acted unilaterally. Appealing to the media, Sumalatha also urged news organizations to exercise greater responsibility while publishing thumbnails and headlines, saying misleading visuals and reports had fuelled unnecessary confusion surrounding the association and its office-bearers.
