KIMS hosts Arrhythmia Symposium

KIMS Hospitals, in association with the Arrhythmia Research and Training Society (ARTS), organised a one-day Arrhythmia Symposium at its Minister Road campus on Sunday, bringing together around 500 cardiologists, physicians and medical fellows from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The academic event featured leading electrophysiologists from across India along with an international expert, focusing on the latest advances in the diagnosis and management of heart rhythm disorders.

Dr B. Hygriv Rao, Chief of Electrophysiology and Pacing at KIMS Hospitals and President of ARTS, said the symposium aimed to strengthen clinical decision-making by combining patient assessment, advanced investigations and evidence-based guidelines. Through interactive discussions on real-life clinical cases, participants gained practical insights into diagnostic reasoning, personalised treatment strategies and improved patient care.

Inaugurating the programme, Dr Sambit Sahoo, Medical Director and Chief of Critical Care at KIMS Hospitals, said the growing role of heart rhythm specialists has significantly improved cardiac care standards. He encouraged young physicians to make the most of the learning opportunities offered by the national and international faculty. Dr Sahoo also highlighted the Arrhythmia Division's research initiatives under Dr Hygriv Rao, noting their contribution to developing cost-effective treatment approaches for patients with cardiac rhythm disorders.
