Kodad mela to offer 27,000 jobs

■  Uttam says even 15% placement would be a major achievement

■  Massive arrangements being made for September 19 event

A Mega Job Mela expecting around 300 companies and over 27,000 job vacancies will take place in Kodad on September 19, Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy announced on Sunday.

The recruitment drive is open to educated unemployed youth from Suryapet, Nalgonda, Yadadri Bhongir, Khammam, and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts. Candidates can register online and attend interviews carrying five copies of their résumé or biodata.

Reviewing ground arrangements in Kodad, Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that the initiative aims to create a direct interface between rural educated youth and leading employers. "Even if we are able to fulfil 15 per cent of this requirement and secure jobs for about 3,000 to 4,000 young people, it will be a major achievement," he said.

Recalling a similar event in Huzurnagar in October 2025—where over 40,000 candidates registered, 20,000 attended interviews, and up to 3,500 secured employment—the Minister noted that elaborate arrangements are being made to handle a turnout of up to 40,000 candidates. To prevent overcrowding, the recruitment drive will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with candidates receiving specific time slots via online registration.

Officials have been directed to set up separate company interview booths, entrance help desks, a public-address system, parking, food arrangements, and clear pedestrian pathways. Selected candidates will receive offer letters on-site in phased sessions throughout the day.

Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, and district in-charge Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar have been invited to present the offer letters.

Kodad MLA N. Padmavathi Reddy will head the organising committee alongside dedicated teams managing recruitment coordination, food, parking, media, and logistics. District Collectors, the Industries and Labour Departments, and regional establishments—including Singareni Collieries Company Limited—are coordinating the event.

Urging families and local leaders to spread the word, Padmavathi Reddy emphasized that the event brings major employers directly to the youth, saving them from traveling long distances for interviews. She called on community representatives to ensure no eligible youngster misses out due to a lack of awareness.
