The Life Transformation Centre (LTC), an initiative aimed at promoting holistic and value-based education among students, was inaugurated at Boribel in Daund taluka of Pune district on Saturday.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by yoga guru Baba Ramdev and international trap shooter Ronjan Singh Sodhi, a Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and Arjuna Award recipient. The programme was chaired by educationist Vishwanath D. Karad, Founder and Chief Patron of MAEER’s MIT Group and President of MIT World Peace University.

The centre has been established in memory of Urmila V. Karad, mother of Dr Rahul V Karad, who conceptualised the initiative. It aims to nurture students’ holistic development by reconnecting them with nature, society and inner values through experiential learning.

Several prominent leaders shared messages during the inauguration. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed the gathering through video messages, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in shaping responsible youth.

Chouhan said that the centre will help young people reconnect with agriculture, nature and discipline at a time when students face academic pressure and distractions of the digital world. He said experiential learning can build respect for farmers, nature and society. Fadnavis said Maharashtra has a rich tradition of linking education with social service and ethical values, and initiatives like LTC can help develop leadership, discipline and compassion among students. Dr Rahul Karad said the centre will focus on five pillars — agriculture and nature, physical fitness and sports, team building and leadership, patriotism and nation building, and spirituality and peace — to support the overall development of youth.
