‘Lions Club Satakam’ by Shankara Narayana

Metro India News | Hyderabad : Renowned humorist and writer Shankara Narayana's Lions Club Satakam, a collection of poems dedicated to the social service organization, was unveiled at Thyagaraya Gana Sabha in Chikkadpally.  Thyagaraya Gana Sabha president Kala Janardhan Murthy, who was the Chief Guest, released the book at the Kala Subbarao Kala Vedika. The event was jointly organized by Thyagaraya Gana Sabha and the Telangana Department of Language and Culture.

Janardhan Murthy praised Shankara Narayana for writing a satakam on an organization known for its social service activities across the world.  Shankara Narayana dedicated the Lions Club Satakam to dental doctor couple and Lions Club members Dr B. Chandrakant and Dr Padmaja. Chandrakant recalled his long association with the writer and said the dental fraternity had earlier honored him with the title “Vishwavikhyata Hasya Rasa Sarvabhouma.”

He said the new book was the third work Shankara Narayana had dedicated to the couple. Central Board of Film Certification member Buchiram, who attended as a guest, encouraged the writer to continue producing both devotional and socially themed satakams. Shankara Narayana thanked Thyagaraya Gana Sabha for its continued encouragement of his humor programs and literary works. 

Dr Ketharaju Kameswara Rao, who is based in the United States, also praised the Lions movement and congratulated Shankara Narayana on his latest literary work. Kala Janardhan Murthy, Shankara Narayana, Dr Chandrakant, Dr Padmaja and Suri Shankara Narayana were among those who attended the program.
