M’rashtra crowned champion

Maharashtra emerged victorious at the 13th Senior National Pencak Silat Championship, clinching the prestigious Overall Champion Trophy. The national-level martial arts event, officially recognized by the Indian Pencak Silat Federation, was hosted by the Uttar Pradesh Pencak Silat Association at the K.D. Babu Singh Stadium in Lucknow from May 9 to 12.
The championship saw spirited participation from over 800 athletes representing 28 states, 8 union territories, and the country’s defense forces. Maharashtra led the medal tally with an impressive haul of 6 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze medals.
