Dismisses case against the couple on the spot

In the rarest of rare cases, a magistrate at the Additional Judicial Magistrate of First Class (JFCM) court in Bodhan did the unthinkable. When an ailing elderly couple Sayamma and Gangaram of Rayakur in Rudrur Mandal arrived in an auto-rickshaw but were too frail to walk inside the court, the magistrate E Sai Shiva stepped down and met the couple.

The couple had come to attend a hearing in a dowry harassment case filed by their daughter-in-law. Despite their advanced age, they remained committed to the legal process. The magistrate noted down all the details of the case and their circumstances and took up the case for investigation.    After speaking to both the parties and assessing the situation, he found no fault on the part of the elderly couple. 

Displaying compassion and a deep sense of duty, Magistrate Sai Shiva dismissed the case on the spot, earning widespread appreciation for his humane approach to justice. The act is being hailed as a shining example of judicial sensitivity and accessibility.

The elderly couple also expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the unexpected gesture of the magistrate. This act of magistrate garnered many good comments on social media platforms. Some people commented like ‘we need such Gentlemen in Judiciary, salute to him.’
