Major relief for sabarimala pilgrims: centre allows erumudi on flights

In a move welcomed by millions of Ayyappa devotees, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu announced that pilgrims will now be permitted to carry their 'Erumudi' on flights while travelling to Sabarimala.
Calling it a gesture of respect towards spiritual tradition, the Minister said the decision ensures the sacred custom remains undisturbed while maintaining all necessary aviation security norms. He added that the NDA government remains committed to protecting religious practices and ensuring pilgrims travel with dignity and ease.
