Man drowns in Osman Sagar lake

A 37-year-old man drowned while bathing in Osman Sagar lake at Gandipet on Saturday evening. The victim, identified as Srinivasulu, had gone to the lake along with his mother, who was there to wash clothes.

According to police, Srinivasulu entered the water to take a bath but accidentally slipped into deeper parts and drowned. His mother raised an alarm, following which local police rushed to the spot and launched a search operation. Despite efforts, the police were unable to trace him on Saturday. On Sunday, the search resumed with the assistance of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). The team successfully retrieved the body from the lake.

Narsingi police registered a case and shifted the body for post-mortem examination.
