The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi expressed her anger over the encroachment of a GHMC park site on road number 36 in Jubilee Hills. On Monday, the Mayor, along with DC Prashanthi and other officials, inspected the encroached park site.

During the inspection, it was discovered that a private individual had removed the GHMC board from the park site behind the Jubilee Hills Police Station and concealed it. The individual had then laid a pipeline and started growing vegetables on the GHMC park land. Additionally, the person had built a high boundary wall around their adjacent plot and used a ladder to access the park area for cultivating vegetables.

In response, the Mayor directed the Town Planning officials to conduct a survey and take immediate action to remove the compound wall and vegetable plants from the park site. She also instructed them to reinstall the GHMC board as it was.

Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi successfully reclaimed approximately 1,500 square yards of encroached land. She warned that any encroachment on GHMC park sites or vacant lands would not be tolerated, and strict action, including criminal cases, would be taken against the offenders.

DC Prashanthi, EE Vijay Kumar, Assistant Medical Health Officer Bhargav Narayana, and other officials accompanied the Mayor during the inspection.
