McCain Foods (India) Private Limited has secured second rank at the FICCI 5th Sustainable Agriculture Awards 2025 in the category “Farm Level Sustainability Initiatives while Sourcing,” recognising its efforts to promote sustainable farming practices through direct engagement with growers. The award was announced at a ceremony held in New Delhi on December 15.
The FICCI Sustainable Agriculture Awards acknowledge organisations that demonstrate leadership in integrating sustainability across agricultural value chains, with a focus on farmer empowerment, resource efficiency, and environmental stewardship. McCain Foods India’s recognition reflects its continued commitment to embedding sustainability into its sourcing operations by working closely with farmers and strengthening on-ground agricultural ecosystems.
The company follows a farmer-centric sourcing model that emphasises responsible procurement, adoption of good agricultural practices, and continuous capability-building at the farm level. Through structured farmer engagement programmes, field demonstrations, and agronomic support, McCain promotes efficient water use, improved soil health, responsible input management, and higher crop productivity. These initiatives support environmental sustainability while helping farmers improve resilience, profitability, and long-term livelihoods.
Commenting on the achievement, Managing Director Mainak Dhar said the recognition reinforces the company’s belief that sustainable agriculture begins in the fields through collaborative partnerships with farmers. Director–Agriculture Sachin Thorat said the award reflects the dedication of farmer partners and the impact of strengthening agronomic capabilities and promoting innovation at the grassroots.
Over the years, McCain Foods India has invested in long-term partnerships with farming communities across its sourcing regions to build a resilient and traceable supply chain that supports food security and environmental responsibility.
