Medicover hospital performs rare endoscopy

Medicover Hospitals has achieved a milestone in advanced digestive care by performing complex “Third-Space Endoscopy” procedures, offering patients treatment without major surgery.  The procedures were performed under the leadership of Dr. Arun Arora Pagadapelli, Consultant Gastroenterologist & Advanced Endoscopist. The team successfully performed Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM) for patients suffering from Achalasia Cardia, a rare condition where the food pipe loses its ability to move food into the stomach.

In addition, the team carried out Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) to remove early-stage tumors from the stomach, duodenum, and colon. This advanced technique allows doctors to remove cancerous tissue precisely while preserving the organ, avoiding major surgery in many cases.
