In a significant step, Medicover Hospitals’ Robotic Surgery Unit at Hitech City has successfully performed over 500 robotic-assisted surgeries in six months under the guidance of a team of 15 expert surgeons. Speaking on this milestone, Dr. Anil Krishna, Chairman and Managing Director of the hospital said that in Medicover, technology is seen not as a replacement but as an extension of care.

Urologist Dr. A.V. Ravikumar emphasized that robotic surgery has revolutionized urology by allowing complex procedures to be performed with precision which lead to reduced blood loss, less pain and faster recovery for patients. Surgical Oncologist Dr. Ravichander said that the robotic system enables tumors to be removed with accuracy thereby minimizing damage to healthy tissues. Dr. Venkat Pavan added: “Robotic surgery has truly redefined the patient recovery experience, with shorter hospital stays and quicker returns to normal activity — an invaluable benefit to patients and their families.”

By enhancing precision and reducing recovery times, robotic assistance has transformed surgery into a less intimidating and more healing-focused experience. Medicover’s skilled and surgical team combines innovation with empathy, continuing its mission to deliver outcomes that restore not just clinical success but also quality of life, mobility, and overall well-being.

Key contributors to this success include Dr. A.V. Ravikumar (Urology), Dr. K.V.R. Prasad (Urology), Dr. Venkat Pavan (General Surgery), Dr. Sharath Chandra Kaushik (General Surgery), Dr. Ravichander (Surgical Oncology), Dr. Ajay Varun Reddy (Surgical Oncology), Dr. Radhika (Gynaecology), Dr. Varalakshmi (Gynaecology), Dr. Peram Prithvi (Gynaecology), Dr. Kaushik Sharma (Urology), and Dr. Sreeman Narayana (Surgical Gastroenterology).
