A mild earthquake struck parts of Andhra Pradesh early Thursday morning, triggering brief panic among residents in Palnadu district. The tremors, measuring 3.5 magnitude on the Richter scale, were recorded in the early hours, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

Officials stated that the earthquake’s epicentre was located about 20 kilometres from Vinukonda, at a depth of 10 kilometres beneath the Earth’s surface. The tremors were felt in Vinukonda, Darsi, and several surrounding areas, where residents reported mild ground shaking.

The sudden vibrations caused household objects to move, prompting frightened residents to rush out of their homes as a precaution. Despite the panic, authorities confirmed that no loss of life or property damage was reported as a result of the tremor.

Local officials said the situation remained normal shortly after the incident, and there were no disruptions to essential services. However, the recurring seismic activity has raised concerns among residents, particularly as similar tremors have been reported intermittently in parts of the Telugu states in recent months.
