Labour & Employment, Mines and Geology Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy said the results of the first and second phases of Panchayat elections across Telangana reflect the public mood ahead of upcoming polls, including MPTC, ZPTC, and municipal elections.
Addressing residents during his tour of several mandals in Mancherial district, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy highlighted that people across nearly all districts are extending strong support to Congress-backed candidates, signaling their victories. He attributed this trend to the welfare-oriented governance of the Congress government, which has reshaped the political narrative at the grassroots level.
The Minister said the election outcomes indicate a clear rejection of the BRS. “From the 2023 Assembly elections to Cantonment and Jubilee Hills by-elections, and now the Panchayat polls, people have consistently voted against the BRS. This trend is expected to continue in the forthcoming Urban Local Body elections,” he added.
During his visits to Chennur, Kotpally, and Bhimaram mandals, the Minister engaged with residents, highlighting the government’s welfare initiatives, including the Indiramma Housing scheme, free supply of fine rice through the Public Distribution System, 200 units of free electricity, LPG cylinders at Rs 500, and other measures that have improved living standards.
He assured villagers that their concerns would be addressed promptly and reiterated that development and welfare go hand in hand under the Congress government. Large gatherings at the campaign events reflected enthusiastic public support for Congress-backed candidates.
