Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu lauded Minister Nara Lokesh for his efforts to take the aquaculture sector to the global level. He said that aqua ties with Australia will be the beginning of new opportunities. Minister Atchannaidu said that Lokesh's foresight to create new markets for AP aqua products across the world in the wake of high tariffs imposed by the US is commendable. He appreciated the commitment of Minister Lokesh for thinking about the development of AP aqua farmers during his visit to Australia.
He said that the emphasis on modern technology in the areas of quality enhancement of aqua products, storage capacity, processing, cold chain and packaging will benefit the farmers. He appreciated that Minister Lokesh's determination to bring international recognition to the AP Sea Food brand would bring glory to the state. He said that the state's 1,000 km coastline is a strong base for the aquaculture industry and the government is actively involved in attracting investment in the sector.
Lauding the progressive ideas of Minister Lokesh in the fields of skill development, research and technology, he said that the joint research initiatives with Western Sydney University are welcome. He said that the steps being taken by the farmers to provide smart farming technology are commendable. Minister Atchannaidu said that under the leadership of Chandrababu, the state is showering investments and thousands of youth will be provided employment opportunities through the development of the aqua sector.
