District education officials have formally issued instructions to the headmasters of the respective schools confirming that the fees have been covered
In a gesture that has won widespread appreciation across the Sri Satya Sai district, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Medical and Health Satyakumar Yadav has personally come forward to pay the SSC public examination fees of economically disadvantaged students studying in government schools under his Dharmavaram constituency.
A total of 2,087 Class 10 students from 41 government schools in Bathalapalli, Dharmavaram, Mudigubba and Tadimarri mandals will now be able to appear for their public examinations without the burden of fees. The Education Department mandates an exam fee of Rs 125 per student, amounting to Rs 2,60,875 in total, an amount the minister has paid out of his pocket through the district education authorities.
District education officials have formally issued instructions to the headmasters of the respective schools confirming that the fees have been covered.
Of the beneficiaries, 1,096 are girl students, many of whom come from families that struggle to afford even basic educational expenses. The move has been hailed as both a financial relief and an emotional boost for students preparing for their crucial board examinations.
Residents of the Dharmavaram constituency have warmly welcomed the minister’s gesture, calling it an example of public representatives contributing directly to the welfare and confidence of underprivileged children.
