MLA urges for careful water usage

Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju Patel has urged the farmers to use the water of the Kadem Narayana Reddy project in a cost-effective manner. On Sunday, irrigation water was released from the Kadem project to the main canals in the ayacut area. The MLA along with the irrigation department officials and local public representatives released water to the left and right canals.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that due to the impact of El Nino this year, the rains are not as good as expected and the farmers should plan ahead for the cultivation of crops in the kharif season. He said that the officials of the Agriculture Department and the people's representatives have already created awareness among the farmers. The MLA mentioned that after the Congress government came to power, Rs 9.40 crore was sanctioned for the repair of flood gates and other development works.
