Notification issued for 607 Asst. Prof. Posts in Health Department

Over 8,000 posts filled since Cong assumed office

The Telangana Health Department, on Saturday, issued a major notification for the recruitment of 607 Assistant Professors in government medical colleges under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME). The Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board (MHSRB) released Notification No. 03/2025, inviting applications from eligible candidates through its official website. The online application window will be open from July 10 to July 17, 2025, and applicants will be allowed to edit their submissions from July 18 to July 19.

The vacancies span across 34 government medical colleges in the state and cover a wide range of specialties including General Medicine, General Surgery, Anesthesia, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Radio diagnosis, Pharmacology, Physiology, Anatomy, and others. According to medical associations, the total number of assistant professor vacancies is estimated to be around 1,300, of which 607 are being filled in this round. A second notification is expected shortly to recruit the remaining 650 faculty members. This recruitment drive marks the largest such teaching faculty intake under the Congress-led government since it assumed office.

Just two days earlier, on June 26, the MHSRB released two separate notifications for the recruitment of 48 Dental Assistant Surgeons and 4 Speech Pathologists. Interested candidates can apply online for Speech Pathologist posts from July 12 to July 26, and for Dental Assistant Surgeon posts from July 14 to July 25. These steps are part of the state government’s broader strategy to address critical gaps in both healthcare delivery and medical education infrastructure.

8270 posts filled so far in Medical and Health dept

Since the Congress government came to power in the state, the Medical and Health Department has filled a total of 8,270 posts across various categories. These include 6,956 Staff Nurses, 422 Civil Assistant Surgeons, 156 Assistant Professors at MNJ Institute, 285 Lab Technicians, 334 Junior Assistants, 48 Physiotherapists, 45 AYUSH Medical Officers, and 24 Food Safety Officers. Additionally, recruitment is currently underway for another 6,269 posts including 2,322 Nursing Officers, 1,284 Lab Technicians, 1,931 Multi-Purpose Female Health Assistants, 732 Pharmacists, and the recently notified 607 Assistant Professors, 48 Dental Assistant Surgeons, and 4 Speech Pathologists.
