Widespread Rains likely over next two days in telangana

Telangana is set to witness widespread rainfall over the next three days under the influence of a Deep Depression moving westwards across central India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers at most places across the state on Wednesday, many places on Thursday and a few places on Friday.

The IMD has also issued an Orange Alert for Day 1, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in the northern and northeastern districts, including Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Mulugu. A Yellow Alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy districts. Similar warnings remain in force for several northern and western districts on Thursday, while strong surface winds of 30 to 40 kmph are likely across Telangana from Friday onward.

According to the Meteorological Centre, Hyderabad, the weather system is being driven by a Deep Depression that was centred over central Chhattisgarh and adjoining north interior Odisha on Wednesday morning. The system is expected to continue moving nearly westwards across Chhattisgarh and eastern Madhya Pradesh over the next 24 hours. The southwest monsoon trough currently passes through the centre of the Deep Depression, helping sustain widespread rainfall activity across Telangana.

The latest weather observations indicate that the southwest monsoon remains active over Telangana. During the past 24 hours, very heavy rainfall occurred at many places in Jagtial district, at a few places in Mancherial and at isolated locations in Mulugu and Peddapalli districts. Heavy rainfall was also recorded at many places in Kamareddy and Mancherial districts, while several other northern districts, including Adilabad, Nizamabad, Nirmal, Karimnagar, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Rajanna Sircilla and Warangal, received significant rainfall.

For Hyderabad, the IMD has forecast a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain or thundershowers over the next 24 to 48 hours. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 28 to 29 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius, with westerly to southwesterly winds blowing at 8 to 12 kmph.
