Padma Shri Dr. Padmaja Reddy inaugurated National Silk Expo

Hyderabad: Padma Shri Dr. Padmaja Reddy stated that handloom crafts hold a special place in India’s rich cultural heritage. On Friday, she inaugurated a handloom exhibition titled “National Silk Expo” at Sathya Sai Nigamagamam in Srinagar Colony.

She appreciated the initiative, noting that the exhibition aims to directly connect weavers with consumers, thereby providing greater encouragement and support to handloom artisans. She emphasized that everyone should wear handloom garments and mentioned that the exhibition offers a wide range of clothing suitable for festivals and auspicious occasions. She also visited the stalls, observed the displayed fabrics, and appreciated the efforts of the weavers.Organizer Jayesh Gupta informed that handloom artisans from major cities across the country are showcasing their products, including silk, cotton, and designer wear, in around 80 stalls. He added that the exhibition will be open to visitors until the 28th of this month.
