Modi visits Adampur, poses in front of air defence system. Debunks Pakistan’s claim of destroying Adampur air force base
“India’s Laxman Rekha against terrorism is crystal clear now. If another terror attack occurs now, India will give a reply, a solid reply. We saw this during the surgical strike. Now, #OperationSindoor is India’s new normal. Like I said on Monday night, India has decided on three points. First, if there is a terrorist attack on India, we will give a reply in our way, on our condition, at our time.

Sporting a Trident cap of the Western Air Command, also known as the Trishul Command the Prime Minister Modi fact-checked Pakistan by landing on the very air strip Pakistan claimed to have bombed. The PM clicked photographs and released a video. the biggest fact check came from his pictures and videos of the S-400 Triumf air defence missiles in the background.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the director general of the information wing of the Pakistani military, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), had in multiple press conferences claimed that its military had destroyed the Adampur base. The Adampur air base, a short distance from Jalandhar, is home to a squadron of the MiG 29 Squadrons and also hosts several other fighters based on operational requirements.
The Prime Minister’s visit to Adampur gains significance in light of the fact that Pakistan claimed to have targeted the airbase with a missile on May 9 in response to Indian airstrikes. Islamabad said it had damaged the base as well as an S-400 Triumf system, which Modi’s visit debunked. During PM Modi's visit to Adampur, an image of an MiG-29 jet and an intact S-400 air defence system was visible in the background.
He asserted from Adampur which is India’s second-largest airbase that India had just paused its offensive on terror camps and its military bases. He later interacted with the air force personnel which was in the thick of action, thwarting drone and missile strikes just a few days ago. the Russian-made S-400 air defence system, India's 'Sudarshan Chakra', intercepted and shot down the projectiles.
"It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation," PM Modi tweeted.
