Pinkathon, India’s largest women’s run, launched its 6th Hyderabad edition in partnership with global healthcare leader Zydus Lifesciences Ltd to drive breast cancer awareness. The event is scheduled for 15 February 2026 at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road. Founded in 2012 by Milind Soman, Pinkathon has empowered over 500,000 women across India, facilitated thousands of free breast screenings, and raised more than Rs 1 crore for underprivileged patients.
The event also honours Mardaku Anitha, a visually impaired runner symbolizing the 10K category, and Sarita Sarkar, a cancer survivor representing the Lifelong 5K run. Preety Khanna, a dedicated babywearing mother, stands as the mascot for the 3K category. Addressing the media at the Hyderabad press conference, Milind Soman, founder of Pinkathon described the event is a celebration of women choosing themselves — their health, their fitness, and their wellbeing.
Appreciating that Hyderabad has always shown spirit and support, he mentioned that this edition gives another opportunity to amplify conversations around breast cancer. At the Hyderabad announcement, Dr. Mohana Vamsy, Surgical Oncologist reiterated that breast cancer still ranked as one of the major cancers that are common in women, and termed as “unfortunate” a large number of cases still being identified at the late stages.
He made it clear that the result of a check takes not more than three minutes. Dr. Sharvil Patel, Managing Director, Zydus Lifesciences Ltd said that the aim of the event was to raise awareness on breast cancer and about women’s health in general.
