The sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone Team, Hyderabad City, along with Police Market, Secunderabad arrested two ganja peddlers and two consumers near Alpha hotel in Secunderabad on Sunday and seized 6kgs of ganja.
Arrested men identified as Tangellapally Akhil Kumar (23), Madugula Rakesh (24), N Swaroop (25) and B Sainath Reddy (20). Police have seized 6kgs of ganja and two cell phones all worth Rs 1,50,000.
The accused Tangellapally Akhil Kumar is native of Atmakur, Suryapet and is staying at Meerpet, he got addicted to smoking ganja and cricket betting. Tangellapally Akhil Kumar used to collect ganja sachets from Mangalhat area and sell the same to known consumers. He lost huge money in online betting, so he planned to purchase ganja from Araku on lower prices and to sell the same on higher prices at Hyderabad as there is a huge demand for ganja.
Both Akhil Kumar and Rakesh visited Araku purchased 6kgs ganja from Gennu and brought to Hyderabad while they were moving near Alpha Hotel, Secunderabad both were apprehended with possession of ganja. After the interrogation Akhil revealed that he previously sold the ganja near TKR College, Meerpet limits, on this lead apprehended ganja consumers namely N Swaroop and Sainath Reddy.
