The Telangana Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGNPDCL) has completed all electricity arrangements for the Saraswati Anthya Pushkaralu scheduled from May 21 to June 1. TGNPDCL CMD Karnati Varun Reddy said special measures have been taken to ensure uninterrupted power supply for the lakhs of devotees expected to visit the Pushkar ghats. According to officials, the department installed 330 eight-metre poles, 152 nine-metre poles and eight eleven-metre poles for the event. Around 5 km of 11 KV line and 12 km of LT line have also been laid. A total of 18 transformers were arranged to strengthen electricity supply in the area.
The CMD said round-the-clock monitoring would continue for 12 days at 16 important locations. Around 150 personnel, including divisional engineers, assistant divisional engineers, assistant engineers, sub-engineers, line inspectors, linemen and assistant linemen, have been deployed for uninterrupted services. Spare transformers have also been kept ready to tackle emergency situations. Double-feeding power systems were arranged for key locations including the temple, tent city, VIP ghat, main ghat and Haritha Hotel to avoid disruptions even if one feeder fails.
Special breakdown teams have been stationed at Kaleshwaram, Mahadevpur and the 132 KV Kataram substation for immediate response during emergencies. Officials also appealed to devotees to follow electrical safety guidelines and contact toll-free number 1912 during emergencies.
Medical arrangements reviewed
Director of Medical and Health Department Dr. Ravinder Naik on Tuesday inspected the medical arrangements being made for devotees attending the Saraswati Mata Antya Pushkaralu at Kaleshwaram, scheduled from May 21 to June 1. He reviewed the facilities in and around the pilgrimage area and examined the preparedness of healthcare services.
As part of the arrangements, 10 medical camps and two temporary hospitals with 20-bed capacity have been set up in the Kaleshwaram region. Dr. Naik visited these facilities and assessed the availability of infrastructure, medicines, and staff readiness. District Medical and Health Officers from Bhupalpally, Mulugu, and Hanumakonda, along with programme officers and health staff, participated in the inspection. Dr. Naik instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted and comprehensive medical services for the large influx of devotees. He emphasized the need for adequate medical supplies, sufficient staff deployment, and round-the-clock emergency care. He also directed that ambulance services and rapid response teams be kept on high alert throughout the event period to ensure the safety and health of pilgrims.
