In a significant leap toward positioning Andhra Pradesh as a hub for next-generation technologies, the state government has ratified a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a cutting-edge Quantum Valley Technology Park in the capital city of Amaravati. The Department of Information Technology has officially issued orders confirming the agreement.
The ambitious project will be developed in collaboration with three global IT and engineering giants — Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), IBM, and Larsen & Toubro (L&T). These firms will spearhead the construction and operational framework of the park, which aims to put Andhra Pradesh on the global quantum computing map.
As per the agreement signed last month, IBM will install its advanced 156-qubit Quantum System-2 at the park, making it one of the most sophisticated quantum computing setups in India. In addition to providing quantum computing services and solutions, TCS will contribute research support and develop hybrid computing strategies tailored for key sectors such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and education.
TCS will also play a crucial role in collaborative research and sector-specific applications. Meanwhile, L&T will support the initiative by offering its engineering expertise, managing infrastructure for start-ups, handling various project implementations, and contributing through its client network.
Officials confirmed that the Quantum Valley Technology Park is scheduled for completion and launch by January 1, 2026. The project is being hailed as a landmark in Amaravati’s development journey, reflecting the state’s strategic push to attract innovation-driven investments and high-end technological infrastructure.
With this futuristic initiative, Andhra Pradesh joins a select group of global regions investing heavily in quantum computing and positioning themselves at the forefront of scientific and industrial innovation.
