State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Telangana has convened its 49th quarterly review meeting” for the quarter ended March 2026 & launched “Annual Credit Plan” for FY 2026-27 on Friday at Praja Bhava. The meeting was attended by Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Deputy Chief Minister & Minister for Finance, Planning & Energy; Tummala Nageshwara Rao, Minister for Agriculture, Marketing, Co-operation, and Handlooms & Textiles, Telangana State; along with senior IAS officers and officials from various banks.
On this occasion, the “Annual Credit Plan of Banks” in Telangana State for FY 2026-27 was launched by Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu. Credit disbursement for the Financial Year 2026-27 projected at Rs 972,253 cr with an increase of 12.99%, over the previous FY. Disbursals under priority sector advances for the Financial Year 2026-27 projected at Rs 4,34,015 cr with an increase of 11.80%, over the previous FY.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister, while applauding the efforts of Banks in achieving various targets, urged banks to prioritize and increase lending to MSMEs, given their critical role in industrial growth and job creation. He called for close collaboration between banks and the State Government to realise the targets laid out in the Annual Credit Plan and to achieve the long-term economic vision.
Tummala Nageshwara Rao, Minister of Agriculture, Marketing, Co-operation and Handlooms & Textiles appealed to banks for supporting more for agri and allied activities to improve the livelihoods of the farmers. He urged upon banks to finance more in Agri Infrastructure in the State for establishment of Cold Storages, Agri Processing units etc.
Chinmoy Kumar, Regional Director, RBI, Hyderabad appealed to banks to cover 750–1000 identified unbanked revenue centres through branches or BC outlets under NSFI 2025-30 and to expedite Re-KYC completion in view of rising cyber frauds and mule accounts, calling it a “reputational and regulatory priority”. He sought the support of State Government in settling the Unclaimed State Government Deposits.
