Rachakonda Police register 619 drunk-driving cases

The Rachakonda Commissionerate registered 619 cases of driving under the influence on New Year’s Eve. Drunk driving checkpoints were implemented, resulting in the apprehension of individuals who had consumed drugs. Furthermore, legal cases were filed against those offenders. A considerable number of drunk driving incidents were recorded within the jurisdiction of the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.

The police carried out sobriety tests from 10 PM on Tuesday until Wednesday morning. They documented cases against multiple individuals found to be operating vehicles under the influence of drugs.

In total, 1,184 cases were recorded by the Hyderabad Commissionerate, while the Rachakonda Commissionerate registered 619 cases of driving under the influence. Additionally, the Malkajgiri division documented 230 cases, the Bhuvanagiri division reported 84 cases, LB Nagar recorded 232 cases, and the Maheshwaram division had 47 cases.

To maintain peace and security during the New Year celebrations, the police have implemented appropriate measures, focusing on individuals engaging in disorderly conduct and drug-related activities.

In a surprising turn of events, the police conducting a sobriety checkpoint in Panjagutta encountered an unexpected situation. A man was apprehended at Vengalrao Park, and upon administering a breathalyzer test, the police were astounded by the result, which indicated a reading of 550.

The law enforcement officers were taken aback upon observing the alcohol measurement of 550. Consequently, they promptly initiated a case against the individual involved.
