Roads being built at Rs 3,380 crores: Minister Janardhan Reddy

State Roads, Buildings, Infrastructure and Investment Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy said on Wednesday that the construction and repair works of roads have been taken up at a cost of Rs 3,380 crore in a single year, which is unprecedented in the history of the state. Speaking to media persons on the occasion, Minister BC Janardhan Reddy said that as per the directives of the Chief Minister, the construction of roads in the state is being given top priority. 

This has paved the way for many industries and infrastructure to come to the state. Speaking to media after holding a review meeting at Krishna District Collectorate, Minister BC Janardhan Reddy said that as per the directives of the Chief Minister, the construction of roads in the state is being given top priority which has paved the way for many industries and infrastructure to come to the state. 

He informed said that 16,000 km of roads have been repaired and pothole-filling has been completed at a cost of Rs 1,081 crore across the state.  Mentioning about Krishna district, he informed that 1,518 km of potholed roads have been repaired and repaired at a cost of Rs 160 crore in the district. Regarding Machiipatnam port, the minister stated that more than 50 percent of the construction been completed and so far Rs 1760 crore has been spent and assured that it will be completed by December this year. 

He said that 42 per cent of the work worth Rs 1700 crore is still pending. Talking about the delay in Gikladandi fishing harbor, the minister admitted that there were some technical issues and it will be completed by the end of June this year . Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kollu Ravindra said that several roads have been constructed in Machilipatnam constituency at a cost of Rs 46 crore and he thanked the Minister BC Janardhan Reddy for it.
