In a firm move to maintain law and order in the Falaknuma Division, Bahadurpura Police secured the conviction of a history-sheeter for violating bind-over conditions imposed under preventive provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Haroon Rasheed, a rowdy sheeter of Bahadurpura Police Station, had earlier been bound over to ensure good behaviour and maintenance of peace within the station limits. As part of the proceedings, he executed a bond undertaking that he would not engage in any criminal activity during the specified period.
However, during the bind-over period, he was found involved in a fresh criminal case, directly violating the conditions of the bond executed before the executive authorities.
Acting promptly, the police produced him before the Special Executive Magistrate (SEM), Hyderabad District, Smt. K. Jyoti, seeking forfeiture of the bond and legal action for breach of the security proceedings.
After examining the records and submissions, the Magistrate found him guilty of violating the bind-over conditions and sentenced him to one month (30 days) of simple imprisonment. He was subsequently taken into custody and lodged in prison.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against history-sheeters and anti-social elements to ensure public peace.
