SBI Chairman drives dual milestone in Telangana

State Bank of India (SBI), led by its Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty launched two key initiatives on Wednesday. The Chairman laid the foundation stone for the new Head Office building of Telangana Grameena Bank (TGB) at Uppal Bhagayath and also led major Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Warangal. Telangana Grameena Bank is among the 9 Regional Rural Banks sponsored by SBI. 

The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by senior dignitaries including Ashwini Kumar Tewari MD, SBI; Chinmoy Kumar, Regional Director, RBI, Hyderabad; Rayi Ravi, Special Secretary(Finance), Telangana Government; members of the Bank’s Board of Directors and other Officials. Further, SBI announced key CSR activities at its Warangal Administrative Office. 

The Bank extended a grant of Rs 75 lakh to the Society for Rural Development for upgradation of rural primary school infrastructure and Rs 17.5 lakh to Sahrudaya Old Age Home for renovation. Addressing the gathering, Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty highlighted the strategic importance of SBI's pan-India CSR activities in driving social impact.
