The celestial wedding ceremony of Lord Sri Sita Rama was conducted at the Mithila Stadium in Bhadrachalam on Friday, exhibiting remarkable grandeur and serving as a visual delight. The rituals related to the celestial wedding were performed from 2 am to 9.30 am during which Abhishekam to mulavarulu, ‘Druvamurthula Kalyanam’ and Alankaram took place.
At around 9.30 am, Kalyanamurtulu, adorned for the occasion, were brought to Kalyana Mandapam accompanied by Mangalavadyams and the devotees performing Kolatam. The celestial wedding was performed in Abhijit lagnam, as per the tradition.
The wedding rituals held in accordance with scriptural traditions and accompanied by the chanting of Vedic mantras were led by chief priest Amaravadi Vijayaraghavan and others creating a deep spiritual atmosphere in the temple town. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accompanied by his wife, paid a visit to the Bhadradri temple, where they presented silk garments and pearl Talambralu (sacred rice adorned with pearls) to the presiding deity on behalf of the State government.
An impressive number of devotees gathered to witness the sacred nuptials of Lord Rama, which took place in the midst of reverent Vedic chants. Pilgrims from various regions of the Telugu states assembled in significant numbers, creating an atmosphere filled with the incessant recitation of the holy name of Sri Rama, resonating throughout the temple town.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao, Ponguleti Srinivas, Konda Surekha, Vakiti Srihari, and Seethakka, joined the Chief Minister for this occasion.
Following this, the temple priests elucidated the significance of the celestial wedding ceremony to the attendees gathered in the pavilion.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister and the Ministers solemnly laid the foundation stone for development projects amounting to Rs 351 crore in Bhadrachalam. This budget includes Rs 75 crore earmarked for the enhancement of Godavari Ghat, Rs 180 crore allocated for temple expansion and infrastructure improvements, and rs 96 crore designated for the development of the temple's surroundings.

The temple at Bhadrachalam, with a more than 350 years of cherished and chequered history was built by Kancharla Gopanna, also known as Bhakta Ramadasu, the revenue collector of HASANPARTHI, in the 1670s AD, and he was the nephew of Akkanna , the Prime minister of the Golconda Sultanate under the Qutb Shahis in that period.
It has been a nearly 350 years plus secular tradition of sending gifts to the Bhadrachalam Temple by the Qutb Shahis ( 1518-1687) and later the Asaf Jahi Nizams of Hyderabad State ( 1724-1948) and subsequently the successive governments of AP and Telangana State have continued the Historical tradition of gifts to the famed temple at Bhadrachalam.
Governor participates in Sri Sita Rama Kalyana Mahotsavam
Hyderabad: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, along with his spouse Janaki Shukla, participated in the Sri Sita Rama Kalyana Mahotsavam organised by Lok Bhavan employees at Lok Bhavan Community Hall (Sanskriti) on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami on Friday. He offered prayers with devotion and reverence. The Governor conveyed his greetings and good wishes to the officials and staff present on the occasion. Later, the Governor attended the Sri Rama Navami celebrations organised by the Bhagyanagar Sri Rama Navami Utsava Samithi and flagged off the Rath Yatra.
Sri Rama Navami celebrated with fervour across Telangana
Hyderabad: The celestial wedding of Lord Rama with his consort Goddess Sita was performed with religious fervour and gaiety across Telangana on Friday, with devotees thronging temples to offer special prayers.
Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy attended Ram Navami celebrations at Timmapur near here.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar took part in the Sitarama Kalyanam (celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Sita) at the
Maha Shakti Temple in his Lok Sabha constituency, Karimnagar.
Additionally, 'Shobha Yatras' (grand processions) were held in Hyderabad and several other cities and towns across the state.
