State Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare Danasari Anasuya Seethakka, along with MLC Balmoor Venkat and other leaders, appeared before the Nampally Special Court for Public Representatives here on Saturday in connection with a case registered during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The court conducted cross-examination and, after hearing arguments from both sides, adjourned the next hearing to February 5, 2026.
Speaking to the media, Minister Seethakka said the previous government had foisted false cases against them in the year 2020 for allegedly violating COVID norms. She asserted that the cases were filed because they demanded inclusion of COVID treatment under the Aarogyasri scheme to ease the financial burden on common people.
She clarified that the protest was peaceful, conducted strictly in accordance with COVID guidelines, and aimed at highlighting public hardship. Expressing confidence in the judiciary, Seethakka said justice would prevail.
Senior advocates Naguluri Krishna Kumar Goud, Kurma Narendra and S.S. Rao represented the Minister and other leaders in the court.
