Seethakka inaugurates World Peoples Assembly office in Hyderabad

Minister for  Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Women and Child Welfare Dr. Dansari Anasuya Seethakka, along with World Peoples Assembly head Dr. Rayala Neethu Naidu, inaugurated the representative office of the World Peoples Assembly in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Seethakka said the decades-old friendship between India and Russia was a testament to mutual trust, respect and cooperation.

She recalled that the assistance extended by the erstwhile Soviet Union to India in its industrial development, including the establishment of steel plants, heavy industries and public sector undertakings after Independence, remained memorable. The Minister also noted that the Soviet Constitution had inspired the concept of fundamental duties incorporated into the Indian Constitution. She said India-Russia relations had been growing stronger in several sectors, including defence, science, space, technology, energy and education.

Russia has set an example to the world in ensuring an appropriate place for women in political and social life, she added. Seethakka said the Telangana government was according the highest priority to the economic empowerment of women and the government was working to strengthen self-help groups, encourage women entrepreneurs, create employment opportunities and enable women to achieve financial independence.

The Minister expressed confidence that the establishment of the World Peoples Assembly representative office would open up new opportunities for cooperation in areas such as education, healthcare, business, tourism, culture, research, innovation and people-to-people exchanges. Describing Hyderabad as a city known globally for both its rich historical heritage and technological prowess, Seethakka hoped that the office would serve as a platform for strengthening people-to-people ties between India and Russia. She made it clear that the Telangana government would extend its full cooperation to every initiative aimed at promoting international friendship, peace, development and cultural understanding.
