Sensational Decisions at International Kabaddi Federation AGM

Hyderabad, September 5, 2026:

Hyderabad hosted an important international gathering of the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF), with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Executive Committee meeting being held at The Grand Kasani Hotel, Hyderabad.

Representatives from more than 40 countries, along with international sporting representatives, participated in the meeting. Several important decisions concerning the administration, governance and future development of international Kabaddi were taken up during the AGM.One of the major developments at the meeting was the decision to remove IKF President Vinod Tiwari and IKF Director Tejaswi Gellot from their respective posts.

The AGM agenda also included discussions on the appointment of new IKF Directors, the admission of new member countries into the International Kabaddi Federation, and the organisation’s activities and development programmes for the 2026–27 year.The decisions taken at the AGM are significant for the future administration and expansion of Kabaddi at the international level.The IKF is working towards expanding Kabaddi across the world, with an ambitious target of bringing 66 countries into the international Kabaddi community.

The Hyderabad meeting focused on strengthening international cooperation, expanding Kabaddi into more countries, creating better opportunities for players and developing a stronger international structure for the sport.Another major long-term vision is to take Kabaddi closer to the Olympic platform and enhance its recognition on the global sporting stage.Kasani Gnaneshwar Mudiraj, Director of the International Kabaddi Federation, has been actively associated with the development and international expansion of Kabaddi.
