During the historic 81-day ‘Gavishti (Gau Raksharth Dharmayudh)’ campaign (3 May – 24 July 2026), Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati ‘1008’ received a grand welcome at various places in Mainpuri district. Shankaracharya ji gave a profound explanation of the three-tiered governance of Sanatan Dharma, which society often does not understand. He said that nearly 85% of any society consists of people who accept what is right and wrong when told. For 10%, the king (state power) is needed. The remaining 4-5% neither accept the Guru nor the king — Yama Raja (death) governs them.
He asserted that Shankaracharyas are not merely ascetics or heads of monasteries but the supreme rulers of Sanatan Dharma, appointed to guide the religious life of the entire world. “The British abolished kings, but no Act of Parliament has ever abolished or altered the position and authority of the Shankaracharya,” he declared, adding that anyone seeking to combine political and religious power would first have to remove the Shankaracharyas.
Addressing the notion of conflict between two saffron-clad figures, the Shankaracharya said only one can be real. Recounting a touching incident from an earlier yatra, the Shankaracharya narrated how an elderly Muslim in Kashmir tearfully requested the restoration of the Ranbir Penal Code, which had strictly punished cow slaughter. Samajwadi Party MP from Mainpuri, Dimple Yadav met the Shankaracharya, sought his blessings and declared full support for the cow protection movement, saying all Sanatanis stand united with him “with resolve and spirit.”
Expressing regret over the Kannauj incident, where the administration allegedly threatened the organizers and cancelled the night stay arrangement for Shankaracharya Ji, Dimple Yadav tendered an apology on behalf of Samajwadi Party National President and Kannauj MP Akhilesh Yadav. Dimple Yadav emphasized that the Samajwadi Party and its top leadership have always respected saints and the Sanatan tradition and remain committed to protecting the dignity and honor of saints in the future as well.
