In a recent development from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, a special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court has directed the local police to register a FIR against Jyotish Peeth Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati. The order follows allegations of sexual exploitation involving two minor boys at the seer's camp during the 2025 Magh Mela and Maha Kumbh events.

The complainant, identified as Ashutosh Brahmachari, a resident of Shamli district, claims the abuse occurred at the seer's ashram. Responding to the allegations in a media interaction, Swami Avimukteshwaranand strongly refuted the charges, describing them as "fabricated" and baseless. He asserted that the two boys in question had never entered his Gurukul or studied there, pointing out that their marksheets indicate they are students from a school in Hardoi district.

The Shankaracharya further alleged that the case is part of a larger conspiracy aimed at suppressing his voice and diverting public attention from the recently unsealed Jeffrey Epstein files which have implicated high-profile figures globally. Swami Avimukteshwaranand also raised concerns about the complainant's credibility, noting that Ashutosh Brahmachari is a registered history-sheeter at the Kandhla police station in Shamli, with a record of filing allegedly false cases against others. This controversy has drawn widespread attention, with the seer emphasizing his faith in the judicial system while calling for swift justice
