Shastri life a symbol of simplicity and service Governor

Metro India News | Hyderabad : Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary at his statue near Lal Bahadur Play Ground in Rahimpur. Recalling Shastri’s contribution to public life, the Governor said his life remained a symbol of simplicity, integrity, discipline, patriotism and selfless service. Despite holding the highest public office, Shastri remained committed to a simple way of life and dedicated himself to public service, he said.

The Governor said Shastri attached great importance to integrity, ethical values and public responsibility. His commitment to placing national interest above personal considerations had earned him a distinctive place in the country’s public life, he added.

The Governor recalled the leadership provided by Shastri as Prime Minister during a challenging period for the country. His call of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” highlighted the contribution of the armed forces to national security and the role of farmers in ensuring food security, he said.

The Governor said Shastri’s values of national unity, integrity, peace, patriotism, discipline, duty and service remained relevant. He called upon people, particularly the youth, to draw inspiration from Shastri’s life and contribute to nation-building.
