Cyberabad Police intensified enforcement and awareness activities during the week from August 15 to 21, with SHE Teams and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) taking action against harassment, trafficking and related offences.
SHE Teams conducted 109 decoy operations and caught 18 persons red-handed while allegedly indulging in indecent acts at public places. Seventeen petty cases were registered and counselling was provided. The teams also received 25 complaints from women, resulting in three petty cases, while counselling was given to the remaining persons. The AHTU rescued two victims and apprehended four accused in two cases under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act. In a separate Juvenile Justice Act case, two boys were rescued and two accused were apprehended.
Police and Family Counselling Centres also helped reunite 32 families involved in marital disputes. As part of its preventive initiatives, the AHTU and SHE Teams conducted awareness programmes across Cyberabad, reaching around 4,974 people. The programmes focused on human and child trafficking, eve-teasing, cyber harassment and fraud, child marriage, child rights, child labour, stalking and cyberbullying, besides helplines 181, 1098, 100 / 112 and 1930.
